The Siemens ip converter 77 and 771 convert DC millampere input signal directly proportional to the input into pneumatic output signal. Their robust design as well as  resistance to shock and vibration enable them to be installed in even the toughest industrial environments.

Siemens ip converter 77116STF1 is a cost-effective valve service current-to-pressure transducer. The Model 771 receives an electronic device’s output signal such as PID control function and drives control valve through the transducer until the control function is fulfilled. Because it’s boosted output capacity minimizes time lags as well as the effects of leakage, also Model 771B should be used for direct-loading of valve actuators or other large volumes.  Also if the valve actuator includes a valve position , a Model 771S should be used.

The pneumatic control signals are traditionally based on a pressure range of 3-15psi (0.2-1.0 bar), or more commonly now, an electrical signal of 4-20mA for industry, or 0-10V for HVAC systems. Electrical control now often includes a “Smart” communication signal superimposed on the 4-20mA control current, such that the health and verification of the valve position can be signalled back to the controller. The HART, Fieldbus Foundation, and Profibus are the most common protocols.
